Fingers in Ears

The Democrats want to know what the exit strategy is for Iraq.

The president iterates and reiterates: when the Iraqi Defense Forces are capable of defending their own country against the terrorists.

The Democrats want to know what the exit strategy is for Iraq.

The president gives tangible examples of the progress that the Iraqi military has made, such as the number of Iraqi battalions which are read to fight on their own.

The Democrats want to know what the exit strategy is for Iraq.

The president explains that when these numbers increase to sufficient numbers for the defense of the Iraq nation, it will be time for the American Armed Forces to come home.

The Democrats want to know what the exit strategy is for Iraq.

Does anyone sense a pattern here?

Baldy!

Would you do one of those Wonkette/Washingtonienne faux-lesbo posts with Attila Girl? I nominated her for Best Gay Blog at the Weblogs. Hell, everyone else is nominated. Check it out: I nominated Oliver Willis, who had the nerve to ask to be removed from that category! Who's SHE kidding?

Yeah, been hearing it for the last few years. Kinda like a broken record, or a robot with a stutter.

(BeautifulAtrocities--Remember that scene in the recruiter's office in STRIPES? Hee hee.)

The operative political tactic here is "narrative".

The opposition to the President is totally focused on projecting, enforcing and reinforcing, re-projecting their own narrative. This has been a consistent tactic since the beginning.

Mhmm, but what about the exit strategy? We need more cowbell exit strategy, dammit. Do we plan to shut the door behind us when we leave or were we raised by barnfolk? :P

You folks, I'm trying to drag the discussion down here & you're not helping. FYI Baldy, if you're really not up for a little faux-action with Attila, I would compromise & accept a pic of you in Beautiful Atrocities boxer shorts. Sondra was supposed to do that like, a year ago, but the pic hasn't materialized & I really want to finally get my first Cafe Press check.

THANK YOU ;)

Sorry guys, those are goals, not strategies. It's like saying our strategy in WWII was to defeat the Axis powers and install democracies in Europe. Or my strategy in a chess game is to take a bunch of the other player's pieces and checkmate his king.

This post sums it up pretty well

justin,

You say that as though it's still February 2003 and everything is still theoretical.

What exactly do you think all the NGOs, IOs, GOs, the Iraqis, our diplomats and our troops have been doing in Iraq and in Iraq-related missions around the world for the past 2.5 years?

One definition of strategy:

A plan of action resulting from strategy or intended to accomplish a specific goal

Democrats are like little snotfaced brats on a long drive
" HOW MUCH FURTHER IS IT ? "
over and over and over and when you tell them to shut up they start asking, " are we theyre yet?
This is where youre lucky if youre driving by the grand canyon or in the mojave desert near a roadside rattlesnake atraction. " YES WE ARE HERE , NOW GET THE HELL OUT " YOU TOO JUSTIN ....
youre supposed to be on youre honeymoon you FLaming........

Where is our exit strategy for Germany, England,Spain, Bosnia? U.S. troops are going to be in the Iraq area for a long, long time!

It does seem as though the democrats possibly (possibly not) know something about how 911 really went down and what really happened in Iraq and what happened with other countries who were in support of Saddam's regime prior to the war. The democrats may have some intimate knowledge about the nature of these foreign terror groups and Iraq's domestic terror groups and about their state and private backers around the world.

This kind of knowledge could be seen as not flattering to them.

Why else would they be so unconcerned in a world like this about the potential of the world's second largest oil revenues filling the accounts of Jihadists, Salafists-Wahabists, and people like Izzat Ibrahim Al-Douri and his sons?

Or, is it that they are just stupid?

Or, is this president's resoluteness about this mission making them comfortable enough to feel like they can freeload, or I mean, afford to behave as they do?

Their behaviour I am sure is geared toward a political equivalent of the financial term used on Wall Street that is called the "put" option. Investing themselves politically in the interest of seeing the U.S. soldiers fail in Iraq (put).

I think what overides all else with Democrats is this social agenda that they were unable to install completely while Bill Clinton was in. That agenda involves a lot of things but something like Joycelyn Elders, Maplethorpe, sensitivity training, Hollywood-Scientology, anything ACLU, and so on. This agenda is the agenda of the news and entertainment media and probably more closely matches Europe's (Europe means France and Germany) ways as well. A kind of MTV-UNESCO-Disney culture administered from the United Nations and enforced with Scientology's various combat and security methods.

Maybe I exaggerate but then again maybe I didn't say enough. But either way I think many people here know what I am getting at. The Democrats and their MSM media are playing a political "put" option on our efforts in Iraq due to some urgency they feel to get back to some social agenda they couldn't get passed in the 1990s. Lets face it, homosexuality seems to be about the top priority with the democratic party along with abortion. But these things have developed into an incredibly large societal plan that goes into details that have been worked on for decades and have their roots and many simularities with the German Socialist Workers Party's (with the Islamists in their day too, began with homosexual rights organizations, abortion and eugenics, evolution as a religion) programs and basic social and philosophical outlook. Saddam's money was probably meant to be their (UN-left) slingshot into the future because Saddam often used the term "socialism" in a positive manner and all the while used religion too in the words that would please Osama and al-Turabi of The Sudan. The word "socialism" was mentioned in his many speeches to please someone, who? We can already guess who he was trying to please with his many references to Allah and jihad. Hasan al-Banna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, moved his operations to Aleppo, Syria in 1935 while in personal contact with Adolf Hitler. Hasan al-Banna promised to kill British soldiers entering Egypt during World War II. It is just a little interesting that Aleppo was somewhat central to 911 and the "insurgent" war in Iraq.

Sorry, but someone should mention it. There is so many "leftwing" groups joining themselves with the Muslim Brotherhood organizations and their spin-offs. The red-green alliance as it has been called. And talk about a oil revenue fed movement. The Wahabist and Muslim Brotherhood is oil revenue funded as well as so many "left" wing view points from our Saudi funded schools and universities as well as our corporate foundation (oil too) funded "left" wing organizations. Many of these foundations were of corporations that were with the Nazis as well in their day. And much of it involves a re-run of the same social and religious philosophies all over again.

Again, maybe someone should at least mention it however imperfectly.

It's just NOT the strategy that they want....who is the "they"?

Why it's the WHITE FLAG DEMOCRATS.

Steve, you're posts are just getting crazier and crazier. Let me see if I got this right--democrats are a bunch of homosexual, abortion loving leftists, who have aligned themselves with religious fanatics who would kill all homosexuals and repress women? And, democrats are socialists who are funded by uber-capitalist, international currency speculator George Soros?

After reading the transcript of Bush's speach more closely, and the national security report. I'll take back some of my criticism and agree somewhat with Baldilocks--I thought the speach was decent and Bush should be talking more like that to the public.

Again, I have been a huge critic of the war and this Admnistration, but I think it is critical that we succeed in Iraq and the the US does not lose its resolve in winning this war. A troop draw-down may be the best way to win, I don't know, I'm not a miltary strategist, but I think there can be healthy disagreement amongst people who believe that we need to withdraw troops to win, and those who believe we need to keep our military presence to win (as I do). Unfortunately, I have no faith in Bush's competence, but our side lost the election, so I have to live with him.

I am oddly reminded of a six year old, squirming mightily in the back seat during a long road trip;

Are we there yet? Huh? What about now? Are we there yet?

No matter how the parent explains, the kid will ask again in, oh, five minutes.

Fortunately for the parent, there is the option of telling the child to be quiet or no more candy. Bush has no such option, yet is stuck with the unenviable position of listening to the whining.

LOL another thought (just woke up)

"The dems totally need a nap."

Think modern parenting - the democrats need a time out.

For all the faults of Operation Iraqi Freedom's execution, which most of us understand are going to come with mega-large deployments of troops, it isn't the "fault" of the administration. It is not as though OIF is all part of a one sided game of chalking up a mark on a board with everything that goes wrong and holding it against the Bush administration. The administration has done quite well considering that it has had to do this operation with no help from the democrats who have been the real failures during this time and causing this country to fight the Wahabbi jihadist with just one arm because the other one is asleep while it complains aloud during its REM intervals.

Steve, the Republicans control the House, Senate and Presidency. Please give one example of the Democrats "causing this country to fight the Wahabbi jihadist with just one arm because the other one is asleep".

Props to El Cid; he got there before I did.

Well I should at least remind you that the Republicans have those majorities through a democratic process.

And as for one arm being asleep I think that analogy doesn't need explaining to most other people visiting this blog. It is part of the basic point of baldilock's posting her article and what many people have been basically saying already. I just added an analogy is all.

Although it might be said that it is currently the weaker of the two arms in the analogy it could be seen as needed like it would be with an actual person.

Justin,

You might keep sticking your fingers in your ears and stomping you wittle footsies and say that the pres does not have a strategy but he has made the same statement from the first. When the Iraqis are in place to handle all the security of the country and run the government according to their own self-written constitution or when the Iraqi government asks us to leave, we will leave. We will gradually pull out as they take over responsibility. That has been the policy since this whole war started and has not changed. He keeps stating it and you and your betters keep misunderestimating him and what he said. I realize that plain speaking of goals and actually doing what you say you are going to do does not come easily to the democrats but we have a president who tells you what he is going to do and then he does it. If you cannot pay enough attention to comprehend it, then it is your fault, not his. Wake up and smell the coffee.

I think you can order this at Amazon.com, Justin.

If you want to know what the Democrat exit strategy is, just go back to those days when the Democratic "cut and run" cowards cut off funding to the South Vietnamese government. Three million deaths later and the Democrats haven't figured it out. Who can the Cambodians and the South Vietnamese thank; don't take all that long to name John Kerry, Ted Kennedy (scion of a family empire built on the backs of prostitutes and bootleg booz), and J. W. Fulbright!

So, Steve, you can't give an example? Maybe you should stop basically calling people you disagree with traitors unless you can back it up.

Mescalero--Kerry and Gore volunteered to fight for their country in Vietnam. Bush and Cheyney took the easy way, so don't go calling into question democrats patriotism. And, Nixon, a Republican, pulled out of Vietnam. And dude, stop re-writing history, we weren't in Vietnam to end Vietnamese suffering, we were to stop Asia from turning commie.

So, when Bush finally sets a time-table for withdrawal, are you all going to criticize him for cutting and running, or will you blame the homosexual democratic MSM?

Straw men burning,
robot stutters, fingering
waxy buildup

Haiku has many potentials.

The "example" is just about all the democrat's behavior of the last 2 1/2 years. Sometimes the evidence is so overwhelming that to pick one or two things out of ten thousand would not do the subject justice. Its a little like, give me an example of how you know any hydrogen atoms on the sun have caused any heat or photosynthesis to occur on earth? The question itself is kind of absurd. The whole politcal atmosphere including the premise of baldilock's postings is the essence of my assertion.

I did not include the word "patriotism" or "traitor" either. I do not know if I've ever used either of those words for good or for bad in my lifetime.

Steve, so you can't give one example? I can only assume that you are full &$*#. You need to stop reading those nutty right-wing blogs and get your head back into reality. And Steve, you've accused democrats (or leftist) in various posts of being of being part of some of some homosexual, socialist, George Soros driven, Wahibist conspiracy. Sounds like your questioning patriotism to me.

I'm sorry, but I seriously question the analytical ability of some of you rabid Bush cheerleaders. That's not to say that you can't have intelligent support of Bush and his policies, but it seems to me that a lot of you get a little too upset at ANY criticism of him. Jeez, the guy has made a lot of mistakes in this war and the run-up to it, if you can't see that, you're a little well, deluded. I supported Kerry, but I can at least admit that he had many flaws. The same with Clinton. Why can't Bush supporters to the same?

I'm OK with George Bush and OK is about the best any president or politician can ever do with me. I haven't been on this blog supporting George Bush specifically and I haven't really noticed much direct support of George Bush on this blog from others. Not that he doesn't deserve some support. We, or many of us here, just casually happen to at least agree with OIF and it seems many of us knew going in to be braced for some bad news and sure enough there has been some. I think we are all a little suprised by the willingness of many of the Baathist and foreign elements to kill indescriminately but this actually makes the case all the more for having removed the Baathists and to continue in Iraq until the job is done.

I'll say upfront that I do not like John Kerry and I do not like Bill or Hillary Clinton. So? I can do that.

As for an "example"? Be a little more specific as to what kind of "example" you are looking for. Your request for an "example" is a little out of the blue and it was not not clear as to what you meant.

My assertion is that the democrats and their MSM have hurt our efforts in Iraq and that is not somehthing I just came up with on my own. It is part of the basic premise of what has been posted on this blog for months now and I added an analogy, so what? Maybe the analogy got to you, but the only thing is is that after all we've taken from those that my analogy was directed at they should be able to take at least that coming back at them.

Wether or not most democrats are
BLATENT or LATENT HOMOS isnt the Question This is a well known fact How do you think Kerry got his 3rd purple heart , after he
cut himself shaving ( his arms]
Kerry volunteered , instead of being drafted , thinking his rich daddy would put him on a cruise ship in the bahamas He was in nam for 4 mos. and all he did was fake action and runaway later to vit the enemy and become one of the biggest traitors since judas along with his commie friend FONDA
Teddys exit strategy is the same one He used at Chappequiddick
