Self-Inflicted Impotence

Think of it. Guys come over here or go to the UK, spend all of that time and effort--and brain-power--in school, obtain the masters and/or doctorate in engineering or physics, and—instead of pooling their knowledge to build up their societies--they pour all of that knowledge into building one of these instruments of murder and destruction.

And, to add insult to injury, the dang thing doesn’t even go off.

None of these attacks were specifically directed at Jews, but the "world" couldn't have given that much of a heck about those either. It took over twenty years for us to wake up--and we were still dealing with the the Soviet bloc for ten of those years.

Reaction to terror wasn't/isn't about the Jews; it's about having the right person as the leader of the free world.

And, yes, Condi Rice is shocking the hell out of me and not in a good way.

I don't support George W. Bush in renaming the war on terror the global "struggle against violent extremism". When you use tools like these, it's not "violent" in the way that a bar-room brawl is "violent" and it's no mere "struggle" like a tough game of chess is a struggle.

This means war. That nail-bomb is a weapon of hatred. Using it, and others like it, on us is an act of war. And our proper response is either to go to war or since we are at war to prosecute the war we are in with the utmost vigour and violent determination to win.

Slippery, soft-pedaling phrases are inadequate in the face of the brutal, practical malice that that weapon represents.
