Just in case you missed the reference in the post before last, Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL) compared our military to Nazis, Gulag-minders and little Pol Pots.
As a result, Al Jazeera, the terrorist rag of choice, takes note:
US Senator Dick Durbin on Wednesday refused to apologise for comments he made on the Senate floor referring to Nazis, Soviet gulags and a "mad regime" like Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. It’s one thing for traditional media entities to express their contempt for the military. However, when a United States Senator gets up on the Senate floor and libels our military for all the world to see and our enemies to use as a propaganda tool, things are even uglier than most suspected. To the military, it's like a stab in the back from a relative.
Illinois Republican party chairman Andy McKenna had demanded he apologise."Senator Durbin's comments come as a great disservice to our military personnel in Guantanamo," he said.
"They are also a great disservice to all US soldiers and veterans who have fought, and continue to fight, to overcome evil regimes and spread democracy around the world."
Durbin did not plan to apologise for the comments, spokesman Joe Shoemaker said.
I may be a nobody, and not an Illinois resident, but what the heck: I call on Senator Richard Durbin to resign his senate seat.
All he can do is say ‘no.’
I wonder what Senator Durbin’s colleagues who are veterans think about his statement--John McCain, for example. I wonder when they will begin to denounce the senator as vehemently as they did back when Senator Trent Lott made his stupid but harmless remarks of a few years back.
Oh and one more thing, are our soldiers committing acts like these (warning: graphic)? You know they are not. So what could be Senator Durbin’s motive for making these slanderous, traitorous remarks? You know the answer to that as well.

I want Durbin’s job, and I want it now. I’ll be damned if a US Senator is going to get away with comparing my comrades to the Gestapo, or Stalin’s thugs. To the people of the Great State of Illinois, none of you have a hair on you’re a$$ if you do not demand a recall of this piece of trash.
