Gonad Diplomacy
I suppose this will play well in Riyadh or Tehran.
Perplexed by the vitriol of US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's attacks on Iran, one lawmaker believes he has uncovered the secret of her enmity -- that she was spurned by an Iranian boyfriend at college. [SNIP]Yeah, sure.Somewhat mysteriously, he added: "This is the result of an investigation by a woman MP, who cannot be named."
These guys just cannot stand having a powerful un-burka-ed woman tell them where to go and how to get there, can they?
Then again...
It was rumoured last year that German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer hardened his tone towards Iran after acquiring a girlfriend who supports the exiled opposition.Maybe this kind of advocacy happens a lot in the circles of Iranian power; which is why they think that everyone else does it.The alleged leniency of International Atomic Energy Agency director Mohammad ElBaradei towards Iran's nuclear programme has also been explained by ... him having an Iranian wife.
(Thanks to Laurence Simon, who is also mourning the passing of one of his cats. RIP, Edloe.)

Remember when the rumor was going around that Bin Laden had been rejected by a blonde girl and that's where all his rage came from? It was a fatheaded rumor but I bet it rankled his devotees something fierce. This new rumor sure seems modeled after that humiliation.

The source of this nonsense, MP Shokrollah Attarzadeh, represents Bushehr in the Majlis, site of Russian built nuclear reactors that are a bone of contention. I guess he's willing to do anything to deflect criticism so the district he represents doesn't get bombed into a radioactive wasteland. The scent of desperation is strong.

OT
Goldi, I looked for a place to send you email and didn't find it (I'm lousy at finding things) so I will post here this email I sent to two bloggers. It's not addressed to you, but I would love you to read it because it will give you a different slant on an issue that will be around the news the next few days I guess. The Mexican perspective on the subject must likely will be absent in the Anglosphere, so I share a bit of that here:
Don't be stupid Venderleun,(Michelle), you are just pandering for that pimp Jesse Jackson. Don't know how the White House fell for it; morons. Memín is a heroe here in México and if any idiot thinks we are going to give him up, he's totally nuts hahahaha. You stupid Americans, better care for your problems. In México we don't buy your politically correct crap. Nooo way we'll abide by this trash. And Speedy Gonzalez is just OK with Mexicans, we have no problem with that or other Mex sterotypes (I'm a mojado, wetback, greaser, spick, you see hahahaha) we have no problem with those because WE DON'T FEEL INFERIOR. People who feel inferior (or who have hidden interests) are the ones that get all irked about someone else's national heroe, as Memín is down here. He taught me to love and appreciate black people in a way that a 1000 Jacksons haven't been able to do in the US. Get informed before you rant, you silly American tools of the PC world-view.
That was it. God bless all the good people in the world, specially you and your dear ones Goldi. Bye :)

We are in the veeeeery early throws of his campaign, since he is in IRAQ! lol. If he is going to have a chance, we need to start a grassroots movement. That is why I am contacting everyone from .
