re. "any other black owners/general partners...?"
It's a question I never thought about, but as a UNC alum I followed Michael Jordan's career and I believe I recall he was part owner of the Washington Wizards until he made his comeback, when league rules required he be either owner or player, not both.
I don't think the accomplishment is in becoming a team owner, but getting to the financial point where one is able to become one.

Wasn't or isn't Magic Johnson involved with the ownership of the Lakers?

I used to work next to a linebacker who played for Miami Dolphins. One of the best Systems Administrator I've ever have the pleasure to work with.

As for Magic Johnson, I believe he has about 12% of Lakers, though his financial interest is quite large and wide.

Magic's not a general partner, if I understand the term correctly.

Doesn't the BET billionaire own a big chunk of the Charlotte Bobcats?

Does anyone ever really check out these people to see if they are who and what they say they are? NFL - Newspapers - Television News - Bloggers ??????????????/

Bill:

It's not my money, so why should I do a background check on this guy?
