No, this post isn’t from my co-blogger. :-) At Senator John Kerry’s site, the webmaster removed the site link to the Daily Kos weblog—you'll have to get his link elsewhere—for cause.
Daily Kos on the Fallujah atrocities:
Let the people see what war is like. This isn’t an Xbox game. There are real repercussions to Bush’s folly.
That said, I feel nothing over the death of merceneries[sic]. They aren’t in Iraq because of orders, or because they are there trying to help the people make Iraq a better place. They are there to wage war for profit. Screw them. From the Kerry site:
In light of the unacceptable statement about the death of Americans made by Daily Kos, we have removed the link to this blog from our website. As John Kerry said in a statement earlier this week, "My deepest sympathies are with the families of those lost today. Americans know that all who serve in Iraq - soldier and civilian alike - do so in an effort to build a better future for Iraqis. These horrific attacks remind us of the viciousness of the enemies of Iraq's future. United in sadness, we are also united in our resolve that these enemies will not prevail."Good on Kerry. No joke.
(Thanks to LGF)

It's not that good. The links between KOS and the Kerry campaign went beyond a hyperlink. If Kerry severs all ties to KOS and returns the funds KOS raised for the Kerry campaign then it will be a good thing.
Until then all they did was delete a line of HTML for some press spin

I want people to know that the gutless and self-pitying Nathan Newman, friend of Ramsey Clark, has been deleting posts that refer to the obits of the 4 men murdered in Iraq (you know: the men that the definitionally challenged Mr Newman calls "mercenaries"). I think that the sensitive Mr Newman gets more exercised about people who take down "Vote Union" fliers in the break room at Wal-Mart than he does about the gruesome murder of 4 innocent individuals.

I didn't read Kos that often before because I could always sense that extreme mentality there just waiting to seep out. Well, it did, and it's ugly and IMO he has just confirmed his association with the fringe elements of the left.

Worse thought, Val:
What if Markos 'The Daily Kos' Zuninga(sp?) is actually middle road Democrat? He is supposed to be a political consultant so what if he is starting to voice what is under the screen of the main democratic party line.
Among the parts that bother me is that this dismissive attitude towards the victims of Falluja. The dismissiveness was due to their jobs, but I could not see any obvious targeting of the men by the Fallujans due to their jobs. To the Fallujans, they were just outsiders.
Another part that bothers me is the fact that for representative democracy to work correctly is that there has to be a public debate about the various issues. You can't have a debate if one of the sides are letting their lunatic fringe dominate their voice. That is unfortuneately what is happening with left.
