uhhh... yeah.
I'm rendered inarticulate by the sheer enormity of that statement.

Surely modern technology can make it possible to have that abortion retroactively.
Posted by: CGHill | April 26, 2004 at 11:38 AM
I heard this on Rush today. I don't think she's too quick on the uptake.
Posted by: La Shawn Barber | April 26, 2004 at 12:20 PM
Many people have said it before, but it's worth repeating: You can't parody the left wing.
Posted by: Jim | April 26, 2004 at 12:20 PM
Juliette,
Have you thought about moving to a more "conservative-friendly" district?
Posted by: JFH | April 26, 2004 at 12:56 PM
It's nice to know that you can rely on Maxine Waters to be consistently stupid.
Posted by: Tony | April 26, 2004 at 01:18 PM
Well, like my poli sci prof said, "Democracy- you get what gets voted for."
Sad...
Posted by: Shawn Lee | April 26, 2004 at 01:49 PM
She really said that? I knew she wasn't the supreme intellect in Congress, but I'd have thought anyone would have stopped short of saying that!
Posted by: Francis W. Porretto | April 26, 2004 at 02:12 PM
Oh dear heaven!
You can't make this stuff up....

Am I supposed to burst out laughing at that? Okay, good.

maybe she should have been marching with the somwhere over the rainbow guy!
Posted by: Fausta | April 26, 2004 at 05:17 PM
Nice to know even Maxine can be right every once in a while.
Posted by: Xrlq | April 26, 2004 at 05:29 PM
I was looking for a nice pro abortion website. Found one.....oooops....
Hey wingnuts....just curious...when you start a war and kill innocent people in the Wah on Terra...don't those deaths count?
How about the hundreds of innocent people on death row who couldn't be exculpated with DNA evidence ( Exculpated: that means proven not guilty...OK?? Ok then)..don't those lives count?
No -the pro death/anti abortion penalty wingnut says you don't kill it, let it grow and I'll kill it.
makes sense doesn't it?
OT- how many medals did W throw away?
( Trick question- Bush avoided combat by joining the ANG and using his daddies connections to keep him safe and drunk)
A: None. Bush won no medlas because he is a chicken hawk
One last question, every wingnut here who has ever served in the military raise your hand....hmmm...just what I thought...you're all big on talk and small on walk.
Last question wingnuts: How much money has W spent and he is still in a dead heat with Kerry?
Posted by: Ryker | April 26, 2004 at 06:57 PM
Um, Ryker. Don't use the appellation 'sergeant' on this site unless you were a REAL one.
Stay on topic, lose the straw-man tactic or be banned. It's your only warning, pal.
Posted by: baldilocks | April 26, 2004 at 07:21 PM
DD 214 available on request.
I don't have a whole lot of medals, but then I was fortunate enough to avoid being shot at most of the time.
Posted by: CGHill | April 26, 2004 at 07:32 PM
Charles,
I know that wasn't you, was it?
Posted by: baldilocks | April 26, 2004 at 07:37 PM
If Maxine kept her legs together like her momma shoulda she wouldn't be able to march.
Posted by: torchy | April 26, 2004 at 08:12 PM
Likewise on the DD 214. I'll bet there are a lot of former/current military service people commenting on this blog.
How about showing us yours, Ryker? Oh, you don't have one? You don't know what it is? Just as I thought.
Yeah, six years and all I have is the "Geedunk" medal (National Defense) but we kept the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and the North Atlantic while I was on patrol.
Back to Maxine. Aaaw, nevermind. I too wish her mother had had the money.

::Raises hand and wallops Ryker::

Maxine Waters isn't stupid. Maxine Waters isn't crazy. But those words that came out of her mouth are a classic example of "I'm trying to be down with ya, have nothing really to say, just say some crap for emotional value" politics.
And that sort of politics gets you nowhere fast. And it isn't limited to the left either (but is seen more due the Democratic party's shakiness). Just grates my nerves...
Posted by: S-Train | April 27, 2004 at 04:25 AM
Woman Marine, 82-86 here. /shrug
Ryker is the lamest type of troll. Responds to the blog with non-sequiters and insults. I guess where he went to school that's considered good debating technique.
Posted by: Calliope | April 27, 2004 at 05:00 AM
I was a lowly Specialist/5. It would never have occurred to me to pass myself off as a Sergeant.
(Actually, I did win an Army Commendation Medal, though I'm hard-pressed to describe just what I did that was so worthy of commendation; I was a grunt, and I did my job.)
As for this "Ryker" individual, well, at least he was able to look up "exculpated" in his Funk & Wagnalls.
Posted by: CGHill | April 27, 2004 at 05:55 AM
Juliette, that's the strongest pro-abortion argument I've heard yet. ;)
Posted by: Joe | April 27, 2004 at 07:29 AM
Great. Democratic Congressstupid commented on in a Driveby stupid.
Jim is right- you can't parody the left. (sic)

Oh my, priceless... lol
Posted by: Paul Jané | April 27, 2004 at 11:11 AM
And I thought I had it bad with Eddie Bernice Johnson as my rep. Jeez. At least no one pays attention to my wingnut.
Posted by: Phelps | April 28, 2004 at 09:56 AM
There is a gay porn "star" who is supposed to be "butch" who goes by the name Ryker. Probably him there. Most of the butch ones really are waving their legs in the air. Also probably him there too. Disregard him. He is less than nothing. Some people think because they got big plumbing they are supermen. The people who think that sorta forgot that you think elsewhere. They just never learn.
